Swifts in Dubrovnik (14th of February 2011)

I dreamed Dubrovnik before I saw it for the first time. I am not entirely sure how to explain this. But I am sure
that a stone city in nighttime appeared in my dreams with its mysterious streets which lead to its mysterious squares.
Those were not pleasant dreams. That city was a stage for some unclear happening, for some worryingly unknown act of
dramaturgy in which I was also some sort of actor.
When I think about it, it is not at all clear to me that I as a kid dreamed so weird dreams, but what is particularly
interesting about it, and the reason for this post, is that I later found out that the city from my dreams is Dubrovnik.
How one can dream about a city in which he has never been before - I do not know, but I do know that I clearly recognized
Dubrovnik as the city from my dreams, but not the first time I visited it, it was only on the 21st of June, 2005 when
I first descended to it in the nighttime. It could have been around 22:00, 22:30.

Dubrovnik in night is a different Dubrovnik. Then it becomes a bit scary. Yellow light, the walls that get lost in the
distance, they are swallowed by the darkness. And swifts. They create a moving, screaming scenery of Dubrovnik in
night. With them, that city becomes really a part of dream world. Tense dream world.
I was completely mystified by Dubrovnik in night. It was a happy coincidence that I brought a digital camera with me so
that I was able to record my impression (see below).

When I was writing "Problem of the observer", I wrote down my impression of Dubrovnik in the first chapter of the book. To the readers of Construction of Reality >> HERE I offer the first chapter of the "Problem of the observer" (I translated it to English). Dubrovnik that I want to talk about in this post is described there.

I can not really describe such a stone city without the moving images and sound. So, take a look at the video that I recorded on the 21st of June 2005 (below). You will easily note the connection between the >> first chapter of the "Problem of the observer" and this video.
I constructed Dubrovnik in year 2008 to illustrate "Problem of the observer" (the first three images from the beginning of this post). It was quite a demanding construction, and below you can see two test images, one in the night....

... and the other in the daylight.
