Spline mountains (July 2007)

Some day in the cafe Robi is telling a story about how intelligence is in fact the sense for aesthetics. He is mentioning IQ tests in which the solutions can often be found by a visual recognition of symmetry, arrangement, the relation between black and white and similar. He claims that this "sense for aesthetics" was "burned" somwhere deep in the head, it is something we are born with. It is interesting here that intelligence is related to esthetics. He mentions the golden ratio, platonic bodies and logarithmic spirals.

Here the shape of the mountains was realized using the spline function, the curve of the third order drawn through, to a certain degree random set of dots.

They played some complex game - simulation that started to show some weird patterns. (from the novel in preparation, 2009).

But maybe it was just mountains covered by snow...
