Wind farm (28th of October 2010)

Such a weird name, wind FARM.
I do understand the "green" standpoint regarding the world of today. In fact, it is difficult to find someone who does not
have at least partial understanding for the green views. Who doesn't like untouched nature, clouds and the sky of
unpolluted color, water without pesticides and detergents? But, with the western civilization which is rapidly becoming
the universal civilization, there comes a need for energy. The energy is not some imaginary concept, it is just
a unifying name for many things - for battery in the laptop that I use to write this, for hot water in radiators,
for light bulbs, for diesel in my car without which I would never see much of clean nature that I've seen, for
every piece of my clothing whose production required energy, for food that I get the energy from and that the
energy of the Sun was spent on and so on, and so on ... The concept of energy is one of the most important ones
in physics, and it becomes especially powerful in closed (conservative) systems.
And for today's way of living people need much energy. How wouldn't they... I watched this morning
small cats that became stronger in the past few months and more able to survive and I am happy - it is cold
today, it was below zero this morning, and the cats are ready to cope with the cold. We, with our long before
weakened genes, would not be in their place. That is why we need the energy. How much energy we need to live
comfortably is a more subtle question, especially because different people think about different things when
they think of comfort, depending of course on their status.

It would be nice if the, already ancient, physicists' dream of obtaining clean energy in huge quantities would work. It is of course a concept of fusion energy that is also vigorously researched these days. For those interested in the story I propose to start their research by reading Wikipedia article about international ITER project. I am afraid that the "green" solutions shall not suffice to preserve the way of life that the majority of westerners would today accept as at least minimally comfortable. Perhaps, in the meantime, before some important decision, we will often see wind farms as some temporary solution before facing the truth.

Wind power plants are beautiful and elegant. The ones from my construction of reality are set up almost certainly completely inefficiently - on the points in the triangular network. Such a distribution probably makes no sense because the wind power would be spent in the first row of windmills, so that those behind the front row would not move at all. But, I distributed them in this way for aesthetic reasons. Besides, it is a constructed reality, remember ...

They remind me of dandelions. Sea dandelions.
