Two angels in Heaven (22nd of June 2012)

It seemed to Maks that something was wrong with Heaven. More precisely, that something was wrong with a small piece of Heaven. At last! It didn't happen for two years so he turned his full attention to discovering the cause of the problem. And he found it - two souls were communicating particularly unproductive, although they were meeting each other, according to the logs from previous days, very often.

They were rookies in Heaven, accepted only ten days ago, whose conditioning was finished recently. It is possible that some mistake occurred. He checked it once more and he convinced himself to be right. And although new protocols were recently written for Heaven, which prescribed throwing out the nonfunctional souls in cases like this, he decided to repeat the conditioning procedure. Perhaps everything will be fine after that. And he did it, writing a short note of his decision in his experimental diary.

It gave him certain pleasure which ashamed him. He was playing God. Of course, similar situations have been provoked for long time, throughout the history of computer industry, especially the gaming industry. People were happy with the idea of having their own piece of the world where they could impose rules and steer it wherever they wanted to. This wasn't something to be ashamed of neither it hurt anyone. Still, here it was a different case. Souls were virtualizations of real persons so playing with them brought some uncomfortable afterthoughts. Although it depended on the observer. In the end, this was the Simulation, and simulations are not the real stuff. Or are they?

The remaining light-green dots were pulsating contently. Nothing terrible happened.
