Curry plant, 19th of January 2018.
Diameter of a yellow blossom of an irregular shape is only about 2 cm and it contains about thirty tiny, densely packed cylindrical flowers. A stems starts from
the root with many prickly leaves which become less dense close to the blossom, about 35 cm from the ground. When crushed in hands, the leaves have an intense
smell which reminds one of a combination of a curry and a lemon peel. It is a curry plant, Helichrysum italicum.
The illustration above was painted on 19th of June 2017, and the flower was found on Krk island, on a dry, red ground, in a shade, about ten meters above the sea
level.
The painting below is the illustration of dwarf everlast or immortelle, Helichrysum arenarium from the journal Flora Batava (1877).
