It offered him certain pleasure that he was ashamed of. He played God. Of course, similar situations were long provoked through the history of computer industry, especially the game industry. He had to cut off the last two leaves of the plant. It was just a matter of time. Although he hoped he may be wrong, he hoped that by some miracle the life in it would fight its way further. It didn't fight. And maybe it was his fault? To much watering or what? How long these plants live afterall? Maybe it simply came to its end, dried out from the old age. Still, the leaves kept some moisture and they resisted crumpling before he threw them to garbage. (from the novel in preparation, 2009)
