Misshaped, 19th of February 2010, material from 2005

A whole series of unusual images was created, due to the code that I programmed to explain myself some things related to inflating a baloon in preformed structures (polyhedra), that simply didn't work. But, it wasn't that it didn't work in the "usual" kind of way, so to simply stuck, or to overflow the memory, or to cause a collapse of the operating system. No. It behaved quite nicely and gave out the results. Which were bizzare, and, of course, incorrect. But, there was some special beauty in them. I am sorry now that I didn't preserve that incorrect version of the code. Who knows that else could be produced with it... The image above is I think one of the most beautiful. It was made when I started to slowly comprehend what was wrong with the code (the definition of the inside/outside for the shape). It shows structures that remind me of chestnuts, so I called it "The flying chestnuts".

And then one really weird image, a shape whose topology is difficult to determine. Some unusual self-intersections of the surface. It reminds me of some spaceship. That is why I called the image "The invasion".

There were also usual shapes that started showing when the code started working, but wasn't stable still. Unusual spheres were the typical solutions (above). That is why I call the image above "The spheres looking for their curves".

Of course, the bodies that are usually "prickly", such as polyhedra, can show certain signs of curves. In that way they become "pillowy" and we somehow feel that they are soft. That is why I call the image above "The tetrahedral pillows".

And the thing above is a well known polyhedron, the icosahedron with additional triangulation of sides, let alone to "relax" due to elastic forces. I call the image "Icosadeltahedrons with rivets".
