Edith Piaf and I, 25th of January 2013

watercolor, male figure
DELIVERANCE

Through boiling queues
of new Zagreb's skyscrapers
Landed
on my naked back
the butterfly of her voice

Edith Piaf and I
smoke a cheap cigar
and step coldly,
while lives get smelly
of heat.

Antonio Šiber, 1994 ?

In those months, I was non-stop listening to >> Edith Piaf and >> Jacques Brel. Don't smoke cigars or cigarettes because it's deadly. Brel also perished from this passion.

I am pretty satisfied with this watercolor painting. It has a strength and unrestrainedness of the technique, yet it manages to catch light. It is all I ask of watercolor.
